I have a calico cochin not laying. Her sister started a little over 3 weeks ago and my younger Rhode Island Red has been laying too....beffuzzled!

It is common for chickens to start laying at different times, even if they are the same breed and line and housed under the same conditions. Even crosses like the commercial red sex links like the ISA Browns which are bred to be as similar as possible have a ten week difference between when the first ones start laying and when the flock hits peak production.
