No eggs?

I bought 4 laying hens day before yesterday. Yesterday I had 3 eggs. Today I had none? What causes that?

Hens have a cycle ... so they can lay every other day to everyday depending on that cycle. As the days get longer you might see it pick up to once a day.

Hi AdrieeC-

What breed are your laying hens? Some hens lay every day, and some are every other day layers.......some not even as good as that. Also, they might take a break for about a week or two because they're not used to their surroundings yet. So don't be surprised if they just layed those eggs that were already in their systems.....take a break, and then get right back to laying for you. That's totally normal.

Just remember to supply them with a good layer feed, and it's a good idea to provice some crushed oyster shell on the side, in a separate dish somewhere for them to peck at. Helps with strong egg shells.
