We have a New Hampshire Red pullet that is 8 months old and hasn't laid any eggs. I also notice that her comb is noticeably smaller than our other two hens and she has some white feathers on her head. Any connection between these three traits? Our other 2 hens ( a Buff Orpington and a Barred Rock) started laying at about 5 months old and seem perfectly normal. I'd appreciate any light any of you can shed on this.

Thanks,

Had one BR pullet, out of dozens, in the last few years who simply never came into lay. Comb never really got red. She was never as active as the others, although, she grew to a nice size. There comes a time when, well... there comes a time. Since she was full grown and I wasn't going to feed her for another 4 months in hopes of waiting and waiting for what just wasn't happening, she got made into dinner down at my neighbors. Hated to because she was so pretty, but......
