Hi Everyone,

Is there any way to incubate chicken eggs without electricity? We currently have load shedding in our country (basically our power is regularly turned off for 2 - 4 hours). Our climate is rather warm..can i wrap the eggs up in something to keep them warm enough?

Would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
T

Are they already incubating? I would just try to maintain incubator temps and humidity until the power kicks back on... seal that bad boy up and maybe throw a quilt on top. I’d treat it like when the power goes off and you don’t open the fridge or freezer to keep it cold

What country. jungle fowel will sit on any eggs.

So, we all dont have caracal but no matter where we are located, we all deal with preditors, big and small.
I still think the broody is the best option. Can you build her a hutch or nest pen that she will be protected from preditors while sitting on eggs?
I built 2 broody hutches last year so i can separate my broodies and they can incubate in safety and be undisturbed.
I used all reclaimed materials.
