Hey
I was preparing my newly hatched ducklings brooder, making it comfortable etc. But when I put my new heat lamp up, and turned it on for the first time, it just immediately turned off again, and stopped working. I tried turning it on again, but it couldnt! I think the Watt maymayhave have been too high for it to handle. Now, I am standing without a heat lamp, till I order a new one, and wait for that to arrive, which probably will take around a week. What can I do now, and is there any alternatives for heat lamps for the duckling? Thanks

Have a search for "Momma Heating Pad" - you'll need a heating pad that will stay on 24/7 (some have auto shutoff after 2 hrs) -- some have a "stay on" feature - make sure it's one of those.

Ducklings are obviously bigger - if you search for MHP there are so, so many ideas - mine is a humble heating pad over a rack used for holding foil/saran wrap etc. - or you can use your turkey rack if you need bigger. They need to be able to press their backs against whatever you use- you'd be making something of a little cave to mimic a broody duck.
