My silky started brooding around the same time that I put eggs in my incubator, so today when my eggs started to hatch I went outside to check on her and found... this.. The chick was laying beside her nesting box in the wood chips that we had placed down for her (that's why there's a few reddish pieces of wood on him) there was no eggshell anywhere in the area but there was also no signs of the chick being pecked at the membrane is even still around him and it's clear he wasn't ready to hatch yet since his yoke hasn't absorbed. I've had chickens for 5 years now and I have never seen this before I just want to know if anyone else has had any experience with something like this because it's creeping me out a bitđź’€

Also I went ahead and took the other eggs that may have chicks from her just because I was anxious. They are now in the incubator. The original plan was to give her the chicks I had in the incubator since hers would hatch around the same time but now I'm scared to
