No longer interested in crumble?

@chickens really and I will have to agree to disagree on the wet feed;) I make both wet feed and dry crumbles available free choice for my chicks and adults. They get both from day 1
That is a choice but not recommended for Chicks..Feed spoils quickly when wet..I know many think it's fine but not necessary..Ducklings do great on wet feed because they eat like monsters..

I agree with you on the spoilage-I make it "fresh" every morning.
I'm home most days so re-fill wet feed as needed, I only put out what they will normally eat in a couple of hours - hmmm...I suppose my "free choice" phrase on wet feed may not be that accurate:hmm LOL

I understand and if new to raising Chicks I don't recommend wet at all.. we can do as we want but the recommendations state otherwise. I personally don't wet Chicken feed..Ducklings do best because they need water to swallow feed and scoop feed..Eat like monsters..

I hear that Duckies make a mess!

I do things a bit "unconventionally" at times. All of us have to find what works for us-this is what's great about BYC. Creative ideas, opinions and different methods can be read about and discussed, then we pick/choose what fits into our "lifestyle".

My adults and chicks do eat very well. I have several feed stations spread out (helps avoid drama). Anyway, my chicks are in a grow out run and have access to dirt, grit, etc. They are at a goofy stage and have decided that one of the feed containers with crumbles is perfect to climb in a take a Starter dust bath:rolleyes: I have one similar to the photo below, I heard them carrying on yesterday, went to see what was up and 2 were in the cup bathing and the others were fighting to get in. :lau Needless to say, they had to pick up/eat spilled feed before I put out more.
