Hi all,

I know there are a lot of posts about this but I had difficulty finding one about no membrane, along with no shell.

We found this on our patio today. None of our chickens seem to be acting "off" and my mind went to it being our 4 year old silkie hen, but we can't confirm.

We feed our birds a layer feed with egg shells mashed in, allow them to free range and feed meal worms.

My main question is, should I assume diet or think maybe it's old age in my silkie hen (this is our first senior chicken).

Thank you.

Could have been a glitch.
Sometimes there is a shell or soft membrane and the hens are quick to snatch that up and eat it.

If no one is acting off, then I would just observe behavior for a few days.
