I just locked down my 15 bantam faverolles eggs. I candled eggs before I locked down, and I saw the movement from 3-4 eggs only, the others looked full (dark thing is almost full inside the egg and air sac was big).
Should I worry about those eggs which were not moving? Or is it normal that they don't move much because they are full inside (not enough space to move)?
It is kind of weird, they were all moving ok yesterday. Due date is April 1.
Thank you for your advice!
(First time hatching, so too many questions)

I think it is pretty normal to see that darkness towards the end.....don't jump to conclusions.....the hard part is waiting.....

Good luck to you! Salmon Favorelles are so pretty!

Actually, all 15 eggs are full of dark thing, I think they are chicks, but what I worry about is... I saw their moving inside the eggs yesterday (or 2 days ago?), but today, they are just still, not as much moving like before.
I don't know if it's normal (less moving inside the egg) at 18th day.
Thank you for your reply though, I am worrying too much and cannot sleep.

Out of my 10 chicks that just hatched, I only saw movement from three of them on lockdown day. I, too, was worried. But apparently for nothing:) Good luck and keep us posted!

I just hatched out 7 bantams, a few more to go I hope, and I never saw movement in any of them. This was my first hatch as well, all I saw was the big "blob" getting bigger. By day 14 there was not much room in there and all I saw was an air cell and a big dark thing. I don't think there was any room to move.

Good luck, just sit tight. Mine came 2 days early by the way. And I ran my temps on the low side, so I think they just have their own timeline.

Thank you, thank you!!!!
Now it makes me feel better.
After I lost 6 eggs out of 21 (5 were clear and 1 was early quitter), I have been feeling somewhat guilty and don't want to lose any more...

Glad you asked this question. I am also starting lockdown. My calls are due April 1st, which is also my birthday

It is my firstcall duck hatch and I am so nervous .I just candled mine and all I saw was a dark "blob" and a big air cell. In just a few I saw a slight flutter. I am nervous about keeping the humidity up. I am nervous to go to sleep! Nervous first time duck Mama!
Good Luck!

I'm glad you asked too...I lockdown tomorrow and this evening noticed a bad smell in the incubator - so I removed the affected egg and candled 5 others just as a sample. I only saw movement in 2, and even then it was the tiniest flutter. The rest I just saw a big dark mass and air sac...so I'm also hoping that they are just too cramped at this point or are sleeping or are saving their energy for the big day.

Good luck!

I hatched 5/6 bantam cochins last week. When I put in lockdown, I could only see movement in 2. The 5th one that hatched the day after the other 4!
Good luck

The last one that I candled was all dark except the air cell. I didn't see any movement at all. Things just seemed really tight in there. I thought maybe it was a quitter, it just sorta seemed glued to the sides. But as I was putting it back in the incubator I heard it chirp
