I have a one year old hen who looks like she doesn’t have a neck. I have had her as chick and didn’t notice anything wrong. She acts ravenous-doesn’t stop eating, small stools. I have her in the hospital cage to relieve stress and to treat whatever she has. I pick her up and I only feel hard breast bone. Alice is very alert. Her comb is pale and wattle has some red. I just wormed everybody and sprayed the coops with Healthy Pen. I think she has been like this for awhile. She gets bullied but fights back. So far I have given her Rooster Booster, mealworms with her food. The rest of the flock are healthy. See pic. Is there anything I can do for Alice?

Chickens tend to shrink up their necks like that when they aren't feeling 100%, so you are doing well to take that as a sign to try and troubleshoot. Since she is low on the pecking order and skinny, perhaps adding a second feeder would help reduce competition for food once she is back out with the rest of the flock.

What's her crop feel like?
She has a lot of feathers from molting and it seemed like her crop was full all the time. I felt over her breast but I just felt breast bone. I could try again I don’t know if she actually empties her crop.

It is like she is hunched over all the time. She kinda does a squat to bend down to eat. I have several feeders out and I try to give her some separate food by herself. I don’t think it is wry neck. She has never laid an egg that I know of.

She just eats all the time, so I don’t think it could impacted or sour crop. I think I would have felt it. Maybe a digestive issue. I appreciate you talking with me- I have had chickens for 3 years and I am still learning!
