You can also tell if something is not right by feeling for the beastbone. You should be able to feel it but it shouldn't feel like a carved turkey. Sorry for that visual but I didn't know how to explain it. You should feel them maybe once a week because some chickens eat more then others so they may normally be chunkier or not. They are all different however they each have a normal and when they have worms or just peck and not eat they loose the meat on the beast bone. Or you could get a weight on them but I think that would help. Also if you think one maybe egg bound, oyster shell crushed or a calcium shot will do the trick depending on how long she was egg bound for. That is just how I used to check my chickens but I haven't had them for 15 years. I just got my first flock in the past 15 and I have 10 hopefully hens. Good luck with your babies I hope I do not have these issues but I am sure I will get something. Maybe this could help future issues.
