Can anyone confirm bumble foot here? I will treat her for it tomorrow but I would like some one to confirm my diagnosis. She is a good duck. You can see all the details in the emergency thread. IMG_20180707_184806_hdr.jpg IMG_20180707_184828_hdr.jpg

It looks like a very tiny scab. Maybe the size of a pine needle. I will try to scrape it off after I soak her. Was also heading to TSC this morning to see if I could get Baytril or clindamycin. It swelled up so fast. In really just a day. I have vet wrap, antibiotic cream, a pool noodle to make a shoe (though I am not sure of my ability to get her wrapped). Would clear iodine be something I would get at the pharmacy? Want to throw everything I can at this soon. This is my first time dealing with this problem.

I soaked her and fed her meal worms but she didn't like it. Went to three pharmacies and TSC looking for clear iodine, but everyone looked at me like I had two heads. Used Vetracyn this morning and googled clear iodine. They probably had it, the Walmart does. I looked in first aid. Evidently in humans it is used to treat toenail fungus and I should have been looking in foot care. A trip to Wal-Mart later. I tried to pry off that itty bitty scab after soaking her but couldn't get it off. I will try a cuticle remover this afternoon. The swelling has gone down some. I hope it's just a splinter but will keep treating her. Side funny, rushing madly around the stall this morning I stepped on and crushed the first egg i got out of the new Pekin.

Poor you stepping on your first egg.

What you have to do is wait for the iodine to work it can take 3-5 days or longer for the iodine to bring the bumble to the surface then you gently scrap the scab off with your nail. the plug may even come out with the scab if it's bumble or you may have to use sterile tweezers to pull it out. Hopefully it's just a splinter and you can find it and remove it.
