I was so busy talking about my own experience I forgot to chime in on the first post. Yes, I would be mad. If I wanted to tell my kids I would. It is not the place for a teacher,other children,or anyone to bust the bubble so to speak. My kids know not to give others a hard time. Accept it for them,disagree for yourself,and then move on.

I would be angry with this teacher,but at the same time realise that this is what happens when we put our kids with strangers for 4-8 hours a day.We are going to have to accept that sometimes those people will say things to our kids that we do not agree with. The teacher ofcourse should know better. I am sure there will be an inservice as a result of this,and teachers will be taught to avoid the subject.

Really...please, please do not take verses out of context.....please read the before and after sentences and take into account to WHOM He (Jesus) was adressing! And God does not hate. "God is all light and in Him is no darkness at all."

I don't think I was taking anything out of context, I know who Jesus was talking to on those verses.

2 Timothy 3:16,17
16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work

so we take that into consideration along with John 8:44 and even tho those word were not said directly to us, we understand that Jesus is calling Satan the father of the Lie, I personally would not want to be associated with that, by lying.

and the other thing, you are right Gad does not hate us, he love us.

he loved us so much that well we all know what he did for us.
but proverbs 6:16 does say that Gad hates, he hates Lies.

No, I wouldn't be mad. As long as Tommy and Jane can spell S-A-N-T-A, then no harm done. No biggie. There's bigger fish to fry than worrying about Santa Claus.

I still consider it lying. You can wrap it in all the niceties you want but lying is knowingly passing something off as truth when it is not said truth. Convincing a child santa is real is lying to said child.

Now I do make concessions for intention. It is a nice intention even if it puts others in an awkward position, such as explaining to a child that believes why santa visits them but not the Jewish family down the street, but at least stick to your (proverbial you) guns.

It is a lie. A lie is not always inherently bad, but trying to call it anything other than a lie to pretty it up is dishonest in itself.
