My lil NewHampshire cockeral has no real tail, unlike the pullet. His tail is a nub, witha few feathers growing in,but he's a lil over 2 months old,or 3 months.

I have searched previous pictures of the Newhampshire rooster with a short tail,so I suspect its just because the breeds a short tailed breed?

Probably its just because he still has some growing to do. It could also be because another chicken pulled the feathers out. My rooster got his tail feathers pulled out by a dog and for a while he didn't have a tail.
