I really didn't know where to post this. Sorry if there was a better place I didn't see.

I have myself a strange little pullet and wondered if anyone has seen this before, has one, knows any reason, or just any general information about her. I hatched her out so I'm positive she has never been injured. You can see her "sister" in one of the pictures that looks identical, was hatched at the same time, and has normal development. These were supposed to be barnvelder eggs so obviously I was lied to about that. If anyone want to guess the breed I'm all ears. I'm going to make another post with these two and two others from that batch that I have no clue.

I'm not concerned about her, I'm just curious and can't really find much information out there.

Thanks guys!

What age? The wattles don't concern me, since everyone develops at different rates, but the comb is so bizarre! I'd love to see what this girl looks like once she matures.

No guesses from me on the breeds, but honestly, they're quite stunning!

I have a few pullets with extremely small combs like that. Mine are mixes of mostly American gamefowl, Dominique, and saipan gamefowl. I'm hoping to line breed a little and see if it's a stable trait that can be passed.

They hatched September 4th. She is pretty close to being an adult and it hasn't changed. The little bump may have gotten a touch redder but that's all. Weird, right? 😆

Looks like a comb in the cushion family. It was explained to me that there are a lot of modifying genes so pea plus rose can give a lot of different looks.

How did it happen? I would ask the seller if they have an olive egger project going. That's an explanation that would be acceptable to me as an accidental sending of the wrong eggs.

For your amusement, the weirdest comb I have seen. One of my cushion combed EEs:

You're sweet to say that it was an accident! I've tried getting a hold of her and she won't respond. She robbed me, pure and simple. The other bird that is her twin has a normal single comb. That's what makes it so weird to me. Of course, they could have the same feather pattern but have different combs, especially since they are mixes. I haven't been able to even get a guess as to what breeds could possible be in this hatch except for two that are trying real hard to be CCLs.

Those are definitely some strange looking combs! My Steele Egger has a single comb but it's split in half with one going one way and one the other. Again, no injury, just how it is. It's crazy the differences they can have!

If you asked the seller questions and they are avoiding you, then I wouldn't give them any benefit of the doubt. The wildly different comb with the very similar plumage was the reason I thought maybe it was an intentional crossing in a project. I am assuming the eggs you hatched were dark brown?

Nope. Light brown.
