My guineas are about 8 weeks old and doing great. It's the first time we have raised guineas. I've heard about the awful racket they make but no one told me they make some really pretty softer sounds, too! When they are happy and on fresh grass (when I move their coop/tractor) they sounds like they are singing. We have really enjoyed having them and we've been surprised at how nice they are. They are nervous and skittish but so far they have never picked on any of the other birds (or each other) and they become distressed when any member of their flock is missing.

I think we are guinea converts!

x2. My husband wears his, or sticks his fingers in his ears. I just tear up from the loud noise.

But I like the soft whistle one of my males makes. Very endearing.
