We have 4 indian runner ducks and 1 welch harlequin duck. One of the runners is a loud mouth - though they all can be if they are hungry.

Still doing some research on adding a few chickens to the mix (3 hens). What noise level will be likely with 3 hens.
Looking at orpingtons or maybe a brahma. THough still figuring out what we can find locally. Wanted pullets or adults, but will likely see about finding day olds so we won't have to worry as much about what adult birds bring to the mix (or what the ducks expose them to).

I think both of those two breeds are reckoned to be pretty quiet birds.

my Brahma was very quiet (and ever so sweet!) but my Orpingtons have to be the noisiest girls in my flock - constantly going on about something! LOL! I love that they are so vocal and compared to my runner ducks they are distinctly quiet - but on the chicken noise level scale - they are up there at the top!
