I think I know exactly what you mean. I have 4 Easter Eggers, with two of them being hand-raised since they were 1 day old. One of the hand-raised brats (Delta) will scream any time she sees me. My coop is attached to my house, so if I open the basement sliding door to let the dogs out, she sees me and runs over and starts screaming at me with that long drawn-out screech which is very loud.
The other 3 will make a little noise, and of course they all have their egg songs, but she literally yells at me when she sees me. If I'm in the garden or working in the yard, she's yelling. If she hears me feeding the dogs in the garage, she will scream until I go out and talk to her. I used to throw treats in, but didn't want to encourage her any more or the others to start, so these days I try to ignore it if I'm in a hurry or will go in the coop and do something to take her mind off it. If my husband goes out, she'll make a little noise but not like she does for me, so he calls it "screaming for her mama." I'm in a neighborhood and not supposed to have chickens, but no neighbors are that close and nobody has complained yet. There's no way someone can't hear her a little bit though, and I laugh when people tell me that hens don't make any noise. I also have quail and the roos do their little quail calls early in the morning, and she's 100 times louder than they are.
