Noisy "hen"

This 4 month old RIR won't stop making noise! I thought we were in the clear and had all hens but this one won't shut up. What do you think? A chatty hen or a rooster?

Very sad. I live in a place that doesn't allow roosters.

he is going to be a nice bird, to bad you can't keep him.
that's why I live in the country, but alas even people out here are starting to think they can tell others how to live.
I guess it's the American way

Post another picture showing the back feathers, well lit, so we can see if they are darker, pointy and narrow and very shiny.

Does this bird look any different than the other RIRs? Some RIR hens have wimpy combs and wattles while others have straighter, bigger, better ones.
The hackle feathers look henish to me. I too think it would help to see tail feathers.
My hens talk more than my roos; is the bird just talkative or does it sound like it is being strangled? LOL! My son thinks the young cockrels sound like a strangeled goose when they first start learning to crow.

I would describe it more as being annoyed - like it's screaming at me. I only have this one RIR (have 3 total: a RIR, a buff orph and a barred rocks). Will post pics of the tail feathers tomorrow.

For 4 mos. old, from this pic looks like a hen to me...
