Non Aggressive Breeds

Did the people at the farm store I bought from them mix them up? The tag on their box/brooder at the store said Ameraucana
I'm sure the feed store labeled them based on what the hatchery told them. It's the hatcheries that sell them as Ameraucanas when they really aren't.

A man hatches them, they aren't from a hatchery. He also takes roosters, which I imagine he uses for breeding purposes and meat birds (sadly! I've given some cockerels to him!)>

Even the one I got my first ones from who knew the difference between the two still labeled their EEs as Araucana/Easter Egger because when people start looking for blue egg layers that's the name they look for thanks to the hatcheries calling them by the wrong name.

He probably bought them as Ameraucanas and never thought they were anything else. Really why would he unless someone who knew otherwise came along and told him. That's the way it is with most people that buy EEs. Probably doesn't even realize.

Yes, I had a wonderful Austrolorp named Alice. She was a sweetheart. Had impacted crop. My vet had to put her to sleep. It was awful. But yes they are a nice breed. I actually saw Americana (sp?) At a fair yesterday. Beautiful!
