When do most roos start to crow? I have one 19 weeks old and have yet to hear him crow. He's a rir if that makes any difference.

Birds mature at different rates, varies among breeds as much as it does individuality. I have had a young game stag crowing since he was about 2 and a half to three months old. I have a lot of other game stags that are about 4-5 months old along with Kraienkoeppe and Buff Leghorns. Out of the mix, only one of the Kraienkoeppe crow and he has been crowing for about a month now- and that not often; the rest still don't and I don't expect them to for maybe one or two more months. Some breeds may take up to nearly a year. It just all varies; but if you find one that doesn't crow, he might be worth charging money for some of these people who want a non-crowing rooster breed, don't let it go cheap
