Well it has been months since this thread was started and I now swear by not putting them in the fridge. They don't last that long anyway and after reading all the threads from way back...they are safe to keep and safe to eat if left outside the fridge. This forum is a real education now isn't it? It is really a matter of personal preference. With all my baking and cooking the eggs do not sit out ver long and no I do not wash them unless there should happen to be some poo on them. I see them unwashed, unrefrigerated and my customers are very aware of this fact.
