I am building a pond for my future ducks and geese and I am wondering what plants I can put in there that the ducks and geese wont eat? I am looking for safe non-toxic plants that they wont eat. Is there such a thing?

Or should I just expect everything to get eaten?

You'd have to look it up for any toxicity, I'm just not sure on that one...., but yellow flag iris is very fast growing and prolific around ponds in my parts of the country, as is Ruellia, Canna lily, Papyrus, Juncus, Horsetail Reed, Miniature Cattails, Taro ( Elephant Ear) . Again, I haven't researched to see if they are toxic or not, just some thoughts for you.

Another idea you may wish to pursue is cattails. You might need to fence them off till they get some size, but those grow along pond edges (I think once the water gets 3 feet deep it's too deep for them). They are not thought to be edible by many people, but many parts can be eaten.

And I think they're pretty!
