Non existent customer service from MT-DI hatchery

I ordered 50 meat chicks about a month ago from MT-DI with a ship date of Oct 2nd. They don't take credit cards so I mailed them a check. The day before they are supposed to ship I call them, because my check hasn't been cashed yet and I wanted to make sure everything was ok. He assured me everything was fine, they just don't cash checks right away and the chicks would ship the next day. Well by the end of the week, no chicks have arrived. I start calling to find out what happened. No one answers the phone. All day. I leave messages. No one calls me back. For 4 days now I have been calling and leaving messages and its like they don't exist. So here I sit on Monday, still with no idea what happened to the chicks I ordered. Completely unprofessional operation.
 
Sorry about your chicks. Poor / nonexistent customer service is infuriating. I would consider cancelling that check if you can.
 
Sounds like the run around hatchery to me, but if it's a family run business they may have had a death or family emergency, and then again there maybe some financial troubles.

I have never dealt with this hatchery, but if I couldn't contact them I think I would cancel that check, and do my business elsewhere.
 
His father-in-law passed away at that time. He was the one who was his partner in all the work of the hatchery. A huge loss for their family and their business.
