Non fertile eggs suddenly

I have a 2year old Silkie Roo and I’ve never had a problem with fertility. He’s a BIG sweet heart, he backs off the minute they yelp. He’s a gentle giant! I have had many offspring from him just don’t know what’s happening now. Suddenly, out of my 4 hens I’m getting eggs like crazy but none are fertile. Some of Their backsides were clumpy including his so I trimmed and cleaned them up and still nothing...? I also have one Silkie hen who wants to sit on eggs so bad she will not come out, she have even put a dried out corn cob and was sitting on that for a bit. I don’t know what to do honestly, it seems all my females want to brood and the eggs are flowing but none fertile. I’m also not sure if I should take them away right away? Do they get affected emotionally? I’ve learned much in almost 2 years but not enough yet. I still worry about the heat/cold. I bought a large shed and turned it into a coop with ac and heat! I know I sound crazy, I even have cameras in there so I can check my Mobil app to make sure they are safe in bed if I’m not home. I’m hoping someone will see this and guide me some because I think I’m over working myself. People tell me at my age and with an illness that I AM over doing it with them and they should be more please than work. However, I do watch TV with my grand chic in the pets room...lol anyway I still need desperate advise about my egg issue, I also have a problem telling if they’re fertile when I candle them as well. Thanks to all of you!

Is it fall where you live? Sperm count as well as the mating urge decreases as the daylight wanes. Your gentle giant may be having far less sex these days and when he does, not enough sperm is deposited to get the job done.

Sperm count can be effected by the heat. Not sure where you are but if it is still hot that may be a factor. Also if they have gone through a molt recently that can effect fertility.
