Non free range/ non deep litter chicken keepers

Thank you for your reply. I'm still a bit confused about deep bedding and deep litter but this is helpful. But, please expand on the "giant slip and slide"! ;-)
You're welcome, glad it helped.

Slip 'N Slide: I setup a giant slip n slide going down our orchard hill. It ends up around over 100ft long in total and is too fast to stop practically at the bottom. After a few modifications my setup now includes very large tarps, hay bales, and a slackline between trees, to create a water reservoir at the bottom. Because the hay bales get wet in all the fun, they end up in the chicken area for bedding or used in the garden as mulch.

Ok, I am relieved. I was envisioning a slip ‘n’ slide for chickens, and I had So Many Questions.

Wow! Wow! Thanks for these photos! Amazing! How long does it take for the bedding to have that 'tampered down' look. I just started this about 2 weeks ago and the coops still look 'fluffy'.

That is absolutely fantastic! Too bad my property is so flat. We'd love this for the grandkids.
