Non GM meat birds

This year I raised both cornish cross and my extra French Black Copper Marans.

I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER raise Cornish again. Regardless of the fact that you get the weight in a short amount of time - the birds are tasteless and disgusting. I raised them the exact same way (pasture and nonGMO grain) as I raised my Marans, the only difference was the cornish were processed at 8 weeks and the Marans around 28 weeks.

The marans melted in your mouth. The cornish was just, well tasteless. I sold out of the Marans immediately and the cornish was only taken after the Marans were gone - regardless of the fact that I charged more for the marans.

That's what turned me off from them as well. My son told me they tasted spongy and soft when he ate them, but our DP birds (Brahmas and soon to come Dorkings) were full of flavor and tasted like chicken should. His words not mine. Since he is the one I am cooking the most for guess I am going with DP birds all the way
