Can anyone give me some advice on obtaining/sowing seeds to supplement my hens' commercial ration? I'd like to grow some (non GMO?) grains or grasses for the dual purpose of feeding just a few chickens and acting as a summer garden cover crop. Sunflower is an easy choice, but what about wheat, flax, clover, alfalfa, millet, etc.?
