This is my non-standard colored orpington cockeral from my March hatch from eggs from Tuffoldhen. It is from a buff orpington covered by her blue orpington rooster.

The buff is really dark almost orangey/burgundy. The black in the feather has a lovely green sheen in the sunlight. You can see a bit og the sheen in one of these photos.

Show me your orpingtons of a different color.

Speaking of a different color here is my splash cockeral, Jubal, from the same hatch.

Miss Prissy here is a cross with a Production Red roo and my Buckeye hen.I know she's not Orpington at all but the colors are very similar to each other. Her hackle feathers have some orangy coloring and black specks through out her back.

The red colors are pretty, but I really love your blue and splash color Orpingtons. Someday, I'd love to get a few for my backyard flock, after I see how I do with my new Buffs.

Hey MissPrissy,
My friends orp. chicks hatched(the ones that spiked to 107 degrees on day one), and they were from a black roo, blue hens and buff hens. Well..... she got 6 black chicks, and 6 brown headed bluish brown chicks....??? are they like your mix? What color were they when they hatched? I am assuming, of course, that hers are the mix and not blue. here is a pic of when they were a few hours old. I will see if she ca email me updated pics, they are now 4 days old.
