This isn't my first batch of chicks but this is my first time ever having a baby that won't stop chirping. I know how to care for baby chickens so its not that he's hot or cold and he's not lonely in the brooder he's got food and water. But the poor little guy cries and cries until i pick him up. I currently have him in my shirt pocket and he's sleeping. He was just hatched earlier today is it possible he just wants to cuddle? I've had a couple spoiled chicks before but never new hatched ones. Anyone have any other ideas what might be bothering the little one?

I've had actual lone hatches recently, and got advice on here about it. While you said that yours is NOT lonely, maybe it could still help. The advice was to put a mirror and a stuffed animal into the brooder. The stuffed animal was useless. I never saw the chick on it, and once they were big enough to jump up onto it (while playing) they just messed it up by pooping on it. But the mirror was the big key.

The mirror actually worked SO well, that I have left it in the brooder "just in case" and I have three chicks in there right now that I almost keep forgetting about! They don't make a sound!
