This is my 4th or 5th hatch so i have some experience but this is currently my first hatch in my new 1588 Genesis. My situation is that when i took my auto turner out and put my egg's into lockdown, the temp is not getting back to where it was the first 18 days. I know people say the motor can make the temp go up, but im not so sure it really does. My first thought is since there is now more room to heat up inside the bator that it just needs a little more time to get back to the 99 range. It's been 14hours into my locdown and i seem to be hovering around the 98 range. Humidity is golden, holding at 67. So my question is, should i worry for my hatching babies?? Or should i just kick back and relax since the 1588 is obviously pre. set for hatching chooks??? It's my silly termo/hygro's that's makeing me do this. They are both walmart special's...a 6 dollar one then the the more expensive one "Acurite" Would love to hear all of your opinions, the thought of even adjusting the thermostat 1/2 a degree for the next hatch came to mind

A lower temp for hatching is just fine. When I run my separate hatcher, temp is about 97.6 - so you're just fine.
After the hatch, check your thermometer to make sure it's calibrated for the next set, but your temps are fine for hatching.

Don't worry, as soon the first chick pops out the temp will shoot right up! I would just leave well enough alone and wait. I always start my hatch a little lower than I incubate, and have had pretty good luck.

thanks guy's, just wanted to double check. I guess the genesis did something right because at 18 days and 4 hours into lockdown i had a few rockers
