I’ve never manually incubated eggs before, our bantams used to take care of the hard graft for me. However, needs must and we currently have 6 silver appleyard duck eggs in a forced air incubator. They’re at 35 degrees, humidity is a bit high but with no water in it is 60 (and I have some of those little sachets to absorb water in there to bring it down).

Eggs were shipped, they’re day 7 now and I candled them to see if there was any progress, one definitely has the start of blood vessels, I thought another two did too but I’m not sure. The yolks are on one side which from what I’ve read on the forum is ok. However, one has the yolk lolling about all over the place inside. Is this a dead egg? The place I’ve bought them from says to candle day 7 and if any issues get in touch so I’ll call them tomorrow. As far as I’m aware this is just one of those things, what is the Normal in such a situation, do they replace the eggs?

Everyone who sells eggs has their own replacement policy. If on eBay or every exhibition breeder I've ordered from, there is no replacements, but they sometimes appreciate knowing how the hatch went.

When eggs are shipped, they are out of the hands of the seller so that's why I'd not be surprised there is no replacements as they have no control what the USPS did to them.

The floating yolk with NO veins, sounds dead. All developing eggs will have veins. If you question it, mark it with a pencil and put it in to check in another week.

I wish you a great hatch!
