I don't think the 2 second rule would apply for a goats foot. I have seen what they walk in...for example chicken poop; no way could I drink it after that.

You wouldn't say that if you had seen a the poop on her foot beforehand and then a clean hoof when it came out...

I didn't say I'd drink it. Goat milk is for other people. Never did acquire the taste for goat's milk, not even foot free milk.

I milk into a small container and keep pouring milk into a larger holding container at regular intervals. It is just too irritating to loose a big bucket of milk like that.

That is a great idea. I have done that also but stopped as my three milkers don't kick - this new girl will just have to learn the ropes here. I will probably start using multiple buckets again because of her.

what does fresh milk taste like?

To me, and most people, it's almost the same as cows milk. The biggest factor with great tasting goats milk is having sterile/clean equipment, getting the milk really cold really fast after milking and watching what your does eat. If they are on pasture their milk can actually taste different each milking depending on what types of weeds they may have eaten. (Also, don't have a buck near them or the milk will taste goaty.)

Store bought goats milk is just disgusting (IMO); fresh, raw goats milk treated properly is sweet and delicious!
