Normal duck molting?

Pekin drake going through some molting. His feathers are brown and wanted to know if that is normal.

Feathers by end of the season can really look ratty and dirty less water proof too. So they don't clean up real good. Once he molts these out he'll be gorgeous again with his new white feathers. Is that a wound on his wing?

Mine get pretty ratty looking too right before they molt.

Definitely nothing to worry about. Birds molt without issues.....

Looks like either a scab or dried blood, maybe a feather got yanked out? Check him out and let us know what you find there.

It is dried blood, I think maybe when he was preening he pulled it
