Normal? Or Nutitrion problem.

Hi All

On the nest that my hens lay their eggs I use pine chips. I noticed that some hens eat them. Is this normal? Or this is an indication that there is something missing in their nutrition?

It could be they are lacking something in their diet, but in the next breath, many chickens eat pine shavings! If you'd like, try typing "eating pine shavings" in the Google Custom Search bar at the top right hand of your screen.
