Hi first time with baby chicks. I have 8 (2leg horn, 2 Easter effects, 4 Barr rock). I have had them for two weeks but based on how their feathers are developing and at what point they developed I think all but one are closer to maybe three weeks with the one being closer to two. Some of them are sneezing all the time but no drainage or eye guck. I think it’s just dust. One dose it always and the others it’s mostly after they’ve been running around or eating. My concern is they were having very runny poos after some research I started Corid today is day 4 of Corid and electrolytes and probiotics. They started having more solid poops. They were in a 50 gal tub inside the crate in the picture below but it was making dust worse and they didn’t have as much space. I removed the tub and moved their light lower to make up for new air flow. I noticed they were getting too warm which led to more watery poops with some regular poop in it.
I moved the light up and they seem happy brooder floor temp reads 80 degrees and 71 in the cooler side. I’m posting pictures of their poop from when I transferred them into a small container to clean their brooder this morning. Some are decal poops but others are smooshy poops that have a lot of water with them. And sound really squirty. I’m wondering if these are normal or are they still too warm? Is there something else I should be looking for? Is the brooder setup ok?

Remove the heat lamp. Once chicks have feathers on their backs and sides, they will not lose body heat during the day while they are consuming calories. I would say, according to threads posted here by new chick keepers, that most keep chicks under heat weeks beyond what they require.

Thank you! I’ll give that a try.
