Normal red or rooster red?

I have a mixed breed pullet, a Calico, who's about 4 months old if I remember correctly. The last few days her face has been getting redder and redder. I know this can be a sign of maturing and hopefully it's just that. What do think? My Wyandotte mix pullets are over 6 months and just started to darken up and haven't been laying yet so this threw me.

im thinking hen she is getting close to 18 weeks old and that is when they can start laying eggs so im thinking hen

I’d say hen not seeing much waddle growth on that picture.

Agree with pullet. Their faces get just as red as a roosters, the term 'rooster red' refers to red on their wing shoulders, I believe.

If the 4 month age is correct then she is undoubtedly a pullet.

Good! I'm glad that she's just a normal pullet and hopefully she'll be laying soon!
