I have a Barred Rock chick 2-3 weeks old. His chest is almost completely yellow and his beak has no black markings like all the others (6). Did I get a little mutt chick? Pretty sure he is a roo but he's smaller than the other confirmed roo. I will post a pic of the one we've affectionately named "Ducky"

Way too soon to tell gender, but you are correct; that's not a barred rock. As to what it is, I'd wait until it feathers out so we have a better idea. Give it about 6 weeks or so.

I read in another post that dark legs (in this breed) are usually pullets and a small for on the head. However, the head thing was kinda disapproved. But the leg thing seemed like good info. Idk if it's true for this chick...pretty sure it's something else.
