Normal?

When I came outside to check on my chickens., and I saw my rooster doing this wierd thing. He had a piece of wood in his mouth and he was bouncing up and down.

And when he dropped the piece of wood he picked it up and started doing it again.
I am really confused. Answer please.
What was he doing.

Yeah i'm thinking it was either dance to attract a mate. Or he was mating with a invisible hen. Either way it is wierd.

my rooster does that with bread , he gets a large piece , clucks and breaks it of the ground while bopping himself LOL maybe he mistook it for some food?!?
