Hi! I just got my first ever chicks yesterday. I am so excited but I know next to nothing. This is almost as nerve racking as when I gave birth the first time. LOL! I am a city lady turned country girl. I have been on my acreage 3 years but this is my first livestock adventure.

Greetings from Kansas, Redbudridge, and

Here are my 6 chicks. I think they are Red Sexlets. Obviously my little Rubbermaid container will only suffice a few days but I'm working on a bigger brooder. Being in the guest bathroom with the heat lamp, they are enjoying the toasty 93 degree climate. They all seem alert and are eating and drinking well. I am going to keep them in the bathroom as long as I can because the weather looks like the cold and wet here will continue for a while.
