A gift that goes over well with school teachers is a selection of tea bags. You need the individual wrapped tea bags.

I like to get a dozen different varieties of tea. If every box has 20 bags, I can make 10 gift containers. Special holiday flavors, stuff you would not normally buy for yourself, or a brand new flavor on the market are all good choices. Two bags of each flavor gives you a chance to try something twice or to share.

What container you package the tea in or what you put with the tea is what makes it special. Hope this gives you a couple ideas.

everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend as much as I did! Lots of fun family time!

NH - I hope your girl is doing better tomorrow! I'm not looking forward to my first chicken illness and hope it'll be one day far far away! Aside from my one little shoe I made for a chick and my one loss of a failure to thrive chick I have been so lucky!

Speaking of chicks...

They're getting bigger by the day and adorable!!!

Still no names yet but I don't know if I'll be able to hold out til I know boy/girl.

Vfem - sounds like you are a busy chick! Good luck with everything!!! I was in the Rusty Bucket in downtown Apex the other day and thought of you - have you looked into selling your stuff out of there or someplace like it? More power to ya for going big but I am warning you from former small business owners several times over (although most credit goes to DH for sure) that it is hard work and the overhead will make your head spin of a storefront! The little stuff adds up very quickly so whatever you've estimated the overhead to be just go ahead and double it and that'll be about right.

And keep in mind that business utilities ARE NOT the same as your home utilities. Crazy expensive.

That said, your stuff is really awesome and I think you could kick some retail butt!!!!

Matt and Miss Lydia - you guys are just awesome at helping so thank you!

Looks like the rain has finally moved out. We are under a Flash Flood Warning. The bottom part of the back yard has 3-4 inches of water. This is where my coops are. Luckily I had enough sense to have all of them on 12" legs or at least with raised floors. Well all but 1. Andy's, calico pet bantams, is not yet. If my lungs ever clear up I need to get busy. I think I have almost everything I need for new 8'x8' divided coop for the calico pets and the old bantam cochin flock.

I am not looking forward to getting around in the mud in the morning.

Matt

Good Morning everyone. I haven't slept a wink, so if I can't type today, please forgive me. Fortunately no rain here yet...I am hoping it holds off until I can build up enough courage to go outside and check on my Susan. I'm afraid to check on her...you know, always fearing the worse!!

Thanks for the advice on mites/lice. I didn't see anything that would resemble mites/lice eggs when I gave her a bath...her legs & feet looked good as well as her feathers. She was really soft!!

I think she knew I was trying to help her and thus cooperated a bit more than I would have if I was her!!

I am hoping it was just something she ate that needs to work its way out of her system....that's what I am praying for anyway. I will keep you all posted/updated on how she is doing today. I am beyond BORED with this limited activity crud!! I can't even climb stairs so no spending my hours locked in the sewing room (mainly because I would have to go up and down to get DD up and put her down for naps/feedings/etc...). I am officially beyond bored and suffering from cabin fever!! I am so glad I will be heading out to TSC today to pick up some of that nutri-drench or else I would probably start resembling Jack Nicholson in the Shinning...just without the snow!! Speaking of the supplement...how do I give it to her?
fl.gif
PLEASE tell me I can just add a bit to her water or something like that...I can't handle having to give a chicken a SQ shot!! Well...I hope those of you who are getting rain stay dry and that your lakes/rivers/flooded areas calm down!

Send all of the mud/muck Beth's way...apparently all her chickens like that stuff!!
