Trim fluff definitely. If you want to check the rooster's fertility I'd suggest AI'ing them a few times and testing the eggs. Then you'll know its either he's just not 'getting it right' - either from inexperience or from fluff in the way.

So, as I have been good all year Allison gave me a gift today. It was a dvd called Mad City Chickens. Has anyone else seen this dvd or own it? A totally awesome dvd to watch if you own chickens, or want to change rules....

Do you know....... my kids have be begging to open ONE gift today ! Had a gentlemen & his son here this AM to pick up a trio of Cochin for sons x-mas gift. Now Gavin gets an early gift. I can hear it now.... NO FAIR !!

Think I will go rub it in....

p.s. they will get to open one gift, their x-mas pjs.

Guess they forgot about them last year...and the year before etc.

I am SURE that is not what they have in mind.

Ok...had to bathe the silkie babies.... they sleep on the floor under the roost and get pooped on.

Then as I was washing I was having visions of the pictures of the colored Silkies at the Cross Roads show. I used grape koolaid mix.

Hmmmm.. bet these will sell good at the auction.

I may try another color tomorrow.
