Not sure I want to leave hubby alone with the livestock anymore.

I'm missing one of my broodies, and half the babies that were with the three broodies. I may be missing a second broody, too. And he tossed one of the black chicks in with the BCM chicks, without tagging it.

I don't know what went on this weekend while I was gone, but when he gets home from work, he's getting interrogated.

I've got another trip planned in late June. Dare I go?

Oh, and my turkey eggs that were due to hatch while I was gone didn't. Nothing. There were a couple clears, which I pulled, but there shoulda been a half dozen turkey poults greeting me when I got home.

Grump, grump, grump......

What a day yesterday. Very long. Went to WCA and meet MaryRuth and Beth. I got two guinea babies from Beth. They are doing well. So since I was at the auction I had buyer fever. I did show some restraint. I got 3 little cages for I believe a good deal. I have been looking on CL for some and nothing. I want to use them for flock swap and what not. Also got 5 buff laced polish
Will only be keeping a pair, once figure out boy/girl, the other 3 I will sell. Also got two "black silkies" to me they are more dark blue. After all they showed two "partridge" silkies and was not even a hit of the gold/red coloring. They were more blue/black.

I will post some pics latertoday of my new chickies. Got to.do some moving and cleaning with the chickens and get.organized.

Yeah, about the Monday do-over..... I need one!!!

DS woke up this morning with Pink-eye... nothing better than your kid walking up to you in the morning and he's trying to explain to you how his eye was stuck shut and how he opened it.

So I will be cleaning EVERYTHING today. Yay.

I'm on kitten watch, too. My cat looks like she's about to pop.

This is pretty frustrating for me. I've had broodies hatch eggs, but atleast you know where they are going to hatch. I'm pretty freaked out about where (and when) she may decide to birth-- she has a box set up and ready for her, but I doubt she will want to use it. I just know she'll deliver when I'm not here. This is also her first litter of kittens.

Not nervous at all.... can you tell?!?!?

Me.... I have 2 hens. Just need to coordinate a play date.

FINALLY ANOTHER PLAY DATE!! WOO HOO!!

Oh, I mean...Let me check my schedule and see when I am free, because you know I am SOOOOO busy these days with all of the nothing that I have going on!! LOL. I'm free aside from doctor visits for the crack addicted kitten and my 6 week check up (still 2.5 weeks away)...so you tell me when you feel like getting together and we'll go from there!! Can you tell I am excited??

Sorry to hear your little guy has pink eye!!

So for you parents out there...I will give you a glimpse of my Monday!! DD#2 has a "blowout" while nursing. Change everything, including myself and RE-shower. Get DD#2 taken care of DD#1 wakes up and is ready to play, BUT...she too had a blowout (glad we're not fully potty trained...or else that would have been a HUGE mess
sickbyc.gif
). Got the sheets in the washer, her changed. She then chases the kitten only to slip and face plant into the hardwood...comes up with a busted lip. She then thinks she NEEDS to show her baby sister who is crying because of the noise (and because for the first 3 weeks of life she was held nonstop by visiting family!!) and gets blood all over her! So after stopping the bleeding lip and ANOTHER outfit change...DD#2 ends up needing ANOTHER outfit change because I was in such a rush to get everything done, I didn't put the nappie on right, and she wet her clothes!!
he.gif
Oh yeah...I am SO ready for a do-over...or at least for it to be Tuesday!!
gig.gif
Then again, we have the AC guy coming Tuesday and just our luck...this week it is suppose to be rather nice weather wise!! Ah, the irony!! LOL

I've had plenty of days like this. I feel your pain! I hope the rest of this day goes smoothly for you!

DS got his eyedrops for pinkeye, and the DR said to keep him out of school until Wednesday.
tongue.gif
yay. He's also completely freaked out by anything near his eyes, so these drops are going to be super fun.

I have about 90 of my birds with distinctive names. Don't ask me how I do it, but I know each and everyone's name without a problem. A person I have met is completely different. I almost NEVER remember a person's name.

Anyone have experience with determining gender on leghorns? My 2 leghorns are almost 7 weeks old now and I want to figure out genders if possible. I have no experience with single comb birds so I have no clue what I should be looking for. Anyone want to take a guess? I'll apoligize in advance for the quality of the pictures. I was doing it alone so I had to handle chicks that didn't want to be held with one hand and the camera with the other. If I need better pictures I can have DH help me this weekend.

Here is one of them in a group shot.

LoL... and I thought I was bad... I named my pot-belly pigs... Porkchop, Fatback & Tenderloin...
gig.gif

We name our chickens too... er.. umm... most of them anyways.
But speaking of my pot-bellies... Fatback had her "bacon bits" today....

She had 7 piglets, but 2 didn't make it... so we have 5 beautiful baby pot-belly pigs. (3 girls & 2 boys)
