Hiya folks

hope everyone had a great day

I love reading everyone's stories about
their experiences with their birds.... past
and present as well as things about anything
else........it's what makes us a community.....
and those sagas don't need to be about
just chickens......so Meg you can entertain
us anytime you want with non-chicken things

......some folks sell the birds after the judging. I had
some but was lucky enough to have a good friend
sell them soooooo......not unless I can talk someone
into hatching more and not hatching more unless
they are presold straight run.....btw.......mine are

<sigh> I think I need some sage advice from my BYC'ers. I have some 2 year old hens that have stopped laying. At first I thought it was because they were all going to molt, but only 1 is molting and her feathers are already growing back in. Their combs are pink, albeit pale, which I know is a sign of sickness. Could anyone think of anything that might be up? Even my rooster (who is acting really "strange - he has been following me and DD#1 around and just isn't acting "right" if that makes sense) has a red comb, but it's not its usual deep red. I (well Beth really) wormed them late Spring...would they need a repeat so soon already? Any thoughts/suggestions/etc...would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the new folks!!

Meg - you'd better stay around!! I need someone to talk sheep and turkeys with!!

On a side note: I made my first batch of raw sheep's cream cheese...DH told me to salt it, and I think I salted it WAAAAYYYY too much!! Oh well, he'll eat it...hopefully!!

I just ordered (for my birthday) some cheese making supplies so I should be making some hard raw cheeses here in the very near future!!
