We went to the Smithfield show last year. The birds there were beautiful. There was a raffle and my kids won some awesome things. It is not a huge show . They also have birds for sale in the parking lot, brought home a pair of spangled Cornish (bantams). Met henthymes there last year, she has some beautiful birds.

This year the ABA district meet is taking place at Smithfield. That should increase the size rather dramatically.

What kind of hen do you think that is?
That's the rescue roo I picked up yesterday.....him and two hens, one of which I have no clue what she is. Apparently the roo attacked her daughter but he hasn't given me an ounce of trouble....and he's pretty queit too
Oh tell him I am sorry couldn't tell it was a roo from looking at it. They do kinda make me think EE's I love my EE's even though I don't have a roo EE Yet

Me, too! All the quarantine stuff should be well over by then, and I can go, too!
Me three?!? I think I may need some quality chicken time with some amazing BYC'ers!! When exactly IS the show? Last year it was close to my birthday so if it is this year...perhaps I can convince DH to take me as a birthday present (and get a sitter...

Thank you ALL for your support and most importantly for your thoughts & prayers. I went through something similar with DD#1 who "failed to thrive" all because she was below the "curve" and she is a healthy 2 yo, so I try not to worry, but when they said there was concern for a rare genetic disorder that could affect her heart...thats when my heart stopped - typical response for a mom/parent I am sure. You all are wonderful and I will keep you posted as I know more.

Spent the day making "penguin poop" (talk about a great name for a cookie...I call them "no bake oatmeal drop cookies" but c'mon poop cookies sound SO much better) for Beth's family & preparing for her visit tomorrow!! Super excited to have some company and talk chickens with someone. Plus...maybe I'll get a head count on how many we will be sending to the freezer in the near future. Especially since I seem to breed boys! At least my family won't go hungry from chicken...LOL...they just won't get eggs for breakfast!!

Have a great Wednesday everyone...the weekend is JUST around the corner!!

No..not crowing yet. He is only 1-2 months old. He is outside on the porch, haven't moved out to the big barns yet, so no heat required.
