check at dairy farms or once in a while they will have drop calves at livestock sales u will probably only find holstien calves most beef farmers try to sell in weight so they raise them up to bout 6 months until they sell... good luck i have bottle raised several orphaned calves and love it if u need any advice let me know!!!

Good morning folks

I am looking forward to the upcoming weekend
......a whole 3 days to play around and try to
get caught up on the end-of-year yard chores.
I hope I can get a start on the lights for the
yard for the season......one of the things I
love doing for christmas.

I do know to check at dairy farms (and much prefer dairy breeds for meat, anyway, even though there's not as much on them) but there are no dairy farms that I know of around here.

I won't buy at livestock sales, as I don't know the background and if they got colostrum. Word of mouth will have to do if I don't catch an ad somewhere. No urgency.

If I don't find any, then I'll keep with the sheep.

HAHAHAA... No ML, I split an order with doublea and I have someone picking up 25-30 off them this weekend. I need guaranteed pullets for my layer flock. Hatchery birds just lay better then my fancy breeds. Sad but TRUE. Except my Swedish Flowers...those girls can lay, I just can't bring myself to eat those eggs. I do real well selling them.

My bators are still running...Keeping warm for Megs eggs.

Or that is what I keep telling myself.

What all did you get in your order?
Some I can tell by the picture, but not all.

Chas.. I got Barred Rocks, Buff Orps, Silver Laced Wyandottes and EEs.

Good morning everyone having a couple busy days and a hard time adjusting to the time change! Been working on training my two pups, Aki the pit/rottie mix is doing great with the chickens but having a hard time with the “heal” command. Akria the pit/heeler mix, is so smart but SOOO hyper! Think she'll need to be trained with a halti head collar. ~chicken news~
Bindi hatched out her first group of chicks 4 out of 6. She is being wonderful mom Lily the super broody, not to be out done, has gone broody and got 8 eggs.
I have 16 chicks just moved outside, their only 3 weeks, but the outdoor brooder is staying a toastey 80 degrees.
