Good morning folks

The chicks are serrled in along with some new birds
and all seem to enjoy their treats......Beth has taught
them well. Looks like I'll need to move some young
roos and old hens, so looks like a swap is in store
for me soon.

hope you have a good day

LOL I am happy to know some of you deciphered my "code" hidden in some of my last few posts!!

To celebrate, I am getting 15 chicks and a trio of ducks!! You read that right...CHICKS!! How long do they have to stay inside/under a heat lamp before I can throw (I mean place...hehe...bad word choice) them out into the coop?!? For some reason...our buff chicks are the target of the hawk looking back from the start - not the ones that are multi-colored, not our lavenders or white ones...just the buff. I am beginning to think they have an issue with orange!! LOL I don't think any of these chicks are buff...but then again, I don't really know!! LOL

Have a great day everyone!!

Good Morning, Happy People!

I'm behind times today. Late getting up, late to work (I have a good buffer in my time, so I wasn't really late, just out of my pattern.) It's the last teaching day of the semester for me. After today, it's just exams. Lots of exams. Then it will be over!

All the chickies are doing good. I love just going and watching Chicken TV.

I'm still on a small quest for eggs to test my incubator, but I'm picky. I want NPIP, LF of certain breeds. Orpingtons, Brahmas, Welsummers or Rose-comb Brown Leghorns, in case anyone has any. There's a couple other breeds I certainly wouldn't object to, but those are the top of the list, in case you know anyone with them whose birds are actually laying right now!

Enjoy the day, everyone!

I use these on most of my pens and LOVE them. I would be lost and aggrivated without them. That price is a little high though....keep looking.
OOPS!!!! I bought some already LOL. I really just want them for my smaller pens because the big girls have a automatic waterer from my leaky hose that a rigged up. If I like them I may be looking for more for cheaper

Good morning folks

Good Morning, Happy People!

Loved the rain yesterday, although I wasn't out in it. We could use a bit more here.

Another long day today.

On top of it all, I got requested by the boss to do some baking for some vistors coming to a meeting today. The down side of sharing my cooking, I guess. But it's okay. I like baking, it's just bad timing for it. Must. Do. Time. Management.

The chickies are growing rapidly. I love it!

Since I brought the birds from Daddys, the turkeys are no longer roaming. They are sticking with the chickens, to the consternation of those birds, who have never seen birds that big. One of the hens has moved into the chicken house. When I go out to close up at dusk, she puffs up hugely and is ready to fight what she can't see in the dark. I have a guard turkey for my chickens!
