Woohoo! Just what you were hoping for! Congratulations to both of you. Mostly to her, though...she's doing all the work!

Oh, I found a guy down in SC who's breeding meat rabbits on a fairly large scale. I'm going to go pick up a young pair tomorrow, of NZW. Then I'l be able to produce unrelated pairs down the road, as these are different lines from the ones I have. I'm keeping a doe from the current litter, so I'll have two bucks and three does, all unrelated, saving the mama/daughter pair. But I had mom bred by yet another buck when I picked her up, so her dad is different. I'll have a good start back on meat rabbits with these.

A lot of the chicks slept up on the perches last night, even though the temps dropped down. Only the youngest were under lights this morning. JDC will get lightened up a bit this weekend, I'm thinking.

Congratulations Luke!!

Well...my mother "chickened" out when it came time to hold one of the chicks. She screamed like a little girl, scared my DD and just about crashed everything...all because one of the girls JUMPED up!! What can you say, she was excited for some attention?!? Sheesh!! Sure wish I had that on camera though...you all would have just about DIED!!

On a side note...my house is TRASHED....got the piano set up but now I have to rearrange furniture and figure out where to put things so it doesn't look so...cluttered!!

To make matters worse...I just received an email saying we will be having MORE company for Christmas...at least the girls will be excited!! In 2 more months, DH wants to find out what we're having (I don't want to know) so I might have to let him post and just NOT read the results!! LOL yeah right!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Congrats Luke

Nh after having one of each we didn't want to know the sex of the third either. But I had a thought that it was a girl from the heart rate, and when the back labor set in I was sure it was a girl as I had back labor with my older girl but not the boy. Its a good thing too, as DH hadn't settled on a second boys name but we had settled on a second girls name.

Good morning folks

Hersey and Reesee since they are chocolates????

Yesterdays rain was very cold but we needed it.
I'm good with rain during the week.......just wantth
e weekends to be dry. The rain does slow down
some projects that we are trying to get done
but I'm not going to fuss much about that. I am
looking forward to green grass next spring.

Hope your day is a good one

Mornin', Mornin', Mornin' !!!

As soon as the chores are done, I'll be dropping Jake off at the vet on my way to pick up that new pair of rabbits down in SC. WooHoo! (Just followup bloodwork on Jake, to check on the thyroid meds)

I'm feeling very wishy-washy about chickens and breeds that I want these days. I want them all, of course, but I'm trying to be practical, too. Those two things don't go together well at all! I have to plan out my layer pen for eggs, plus the breeds that I want better quality of for potential showing. Right now I'm just collecting chicks!

Planning, planning! I need to do it better!

Levi the puppy is growing, and I'll get to bring him home early since he's not under his mom's care. He'll be my New Year's Puppy!

Enjoy the day!
