I wish I could post a pic from my phone of the EE we got from BHep. She did amazing through the night. We got her home and found our other ladies much bigger than her so we kept her in her own little pen in the house. We're gonna wait till she has a little more size on her before we introduce everyone.
It was great meeting the ladies we did

I went to the Wicked Chicken Auction today at Calamity Jane's General Store in Clayton today. I went partially for amusement, partially for information, and partially to look for some chicks to start my flock. Sadly, they didn't have ANY chicks but it sure was an experience. I can't say that I saw a ton of variety in the birds that were there but due to the temperatures, they were boxed up and crated pretty well so it was hard to see what exactly they were auctioning.

Anyhow, thought I'd share... and still on the hunt.

I have a bunch of Black Orpingtons to sell.
I also have 1 EE & 1 OE and 1 Super Blue egg layer chick. If you are interested, they are all about 2 weeks old. If you want any, we could meet there on Sun.

Also have 1 Wellsummer chicks hatched this weekend.

Good morning folks

Looks like we all have a ticket for the weather
roller coaster and we will be riding it this week

I'm waiting for some frizzle pullets to start laying
but if I remember right I do have some time
before they actually will start....it's almost like
being a kid waiting for christmas to get here

I'm putting together a few F1 OEs to start the egg
color project......it will be fun to see what the
pullets from this cross will lay....only have a few of
those pullets so need to pick which line of the
chart I want to work on the most......hmmmmmmm

Good Morning Happy People!

House Chicken is doing fine back with the outdoor chickens, albeit with younger ones. Step 1 is complete. Now I have three new chicks that must stay in a while. Oh, well.

Levi continues to be a good puppy, although he has discovered pants legs, so we are continually redirecting. A phase that will pass.

First day of classes. Labs today. I hope my students this semester are as awesome as the ones I had last semester!
