To AB and any others.
To post to map which I am lucky I figured it out...
1. sign in to google. me, I signed in under another e-amil addie as I don't use G-mail.
2. once signed in, you will see a red edit button over on the left side topish.
3. click on it and
and then three little pictures will appear on the map on the left hand side of it. a hand, a balloon and a weird thingie.
4. move the map to the area which you live in.
5. click on the hand and a box will appear. put your info there then when finish, click on done.
I know alot to do but it finally works. you can still move it if you placed it wrong. by again clicking edit.

sheesh, sorry to those than know how to do this.

ok, a nice windy day, darn, I could use a nice non wondy day. I am getting back loffed on stuff I have to do, build and plant outside.

Everyone have a great day and enjoy your FLYING CHICKENS.....

It's funny, checking out the google map then clicking on the Satellite, I can see my property up close, really close. Bummer is it seems to be around 2005-6 it was taken. I don't even remember how the property looked then. Just moved there and nothing was done yet. No animals, no nothing but trees, some sheds and the house. Looking at other places in NC, most were not even there yet or The sat never got closer to see through the trees. Or.. you can only look at your place really close. I am not sure. mmm, see what happens when I am stuck inside for any length of time.
ok, back out in the winds, enough foolishness....

Good Morning Chicken Folks!!
Welcome to all the new folks I missed!!
Wild - There are NO words one can say...my heart breaks for you and I will continue to pray for you and your situation! I can't say when, but time really does heal all wounds - some will never be fully healed, but will be manageable. Rest, recover, and allow yourself to heal! If you need anything/anyone please don't hesitate to PM me!! In between DD1 & DD2 we lost a baby and I can certainly empathize!

This wind did us in the other day. The gusts were so bad, they picked up my 150# tub of chicken feed and knocked it over. Let's just say I managed to flip it back over and only lost a "bit" of feed (it was probably enough to last everyone 3-4 days!!

) but it made for one EXCITING morning. All this wind caused the door to the run to shut and locked all the birds out last night...which was PERFECT as we herded the ducks & chickens into the coop, kicking the guineas out!! I was worried for a little while, BUT the

cat darted outside and in all the "excitement" (she was outside for probably 2 hours...much to my terror) it seems the cat's presence caused the guineas to....ROOST IN THE TREES for the FIRST time!!!!!!!!

Even though they are EVIL, I was worried that they would sleep next to the coop (like they have been doing if one gets left out or they get booted) but DH pointed them out this morning..hanging out in the tree! Now

BRING ON THE EGGS!!

Off Chicken topic question: I was hoping for some advice. I was asked to make a casserole for a bereavement "dinner" and I was wondering what your thoughts were on say a breakfast casserole? I know SO many people bring casseroles that are all related to dinners, but what about a breakfast casserole?? I would like to make/send something that is useful and NOT a copy of what others are sending (I have a list). If I make a dinner, it needs to be rice/bean based (that's where they are at in terms of casseroles). This is a tragic situation as the mother is in the hospital with a cancerous brain tumor (they failed to remove it fully during the operation) and while she was in the hospital, something happened to the father (heart complications) and he was admitted to the hospital and passed away a few hours later. They have grown kids (1 or 2??), but they are taking turns caring for their mother who is recovering from the brain surgery and is beginning chemo soon - so I don't want the food to be too heavy (esp. if she's undergoing chemo). What are your thoughts? Thank you in advanced!!

I think a breakfast casserole is appropriate, and perfectly fine! I think people would enjoy it. Use those eggs.

Happy First Day of February everyone. Another windy day here in Gray's Creek ! I guess the chickens and goats don't know what is going on anymore. One day it's warm, then it's windy and now it's cold and windy again ... All in a weeks time ... Guess we will all be glad when Spring gets here. I'm waiting to see if I hear Parker ask me " What do you want for your birthday ? " ... So I can say a new Brinsea incubator ! ... Not to much to ask for is it, even though it's a want and not a need. Take care everyone ... Stay warm too ...

It's sooo windy here too!

The chickens have refused to leave the coop this morning. I guess they've unanimously decided that they want nothing to do with it.

Oooo! Brinsea :D I LOVE mine. 90-100% hatch rate every time...even with shipped eggs! I LOVE that thing to death, and I want a bigger one!
